The shield marks a primary provincial highway and shows its route number.

How to recognise it
A blue-and-white shield with the highway’s route number in large figures.
Where you will see it
Along primary highways in B.C., and at the intersections where you turn onto them.
What to do when you see it
- 1.Check the number against your planned route, and follow it through turns and junctions.
- 2.When you see it with an arrow before an intersection, get into the correct lane early and signal.
