Lane use: straight only
What it means
Traffic in this lane must continue straight through the intersection. Follow the arrow: you may not turn from a lane marked for straight-through travel.
White with black or red; a red circle with a slash means prohibited, a green circle means permitted.

How to recognise it
A black square with a white arrow pointing straight up, over or beside a lane.
Where you will see it
Above or beside a lane before an intersection, usually where the lanes on either side are for turning.
What to do when you see it
- 1.If you are in this lane, continue straight through the intersection; do not turn.
- 2.If you need to turn, move to the correct lane well before the intersection.

A black lane-use sign applies to the lane it marks; a question may try to make you apply it to the whole intersection.
