Lane use: turn left only
What it means
Lane-use signs are mounted above or beside a lane before the intersection. Traffic in this lane must turn left, and you may not move into or out of a designated lane while you are in the intersection.
White with black or red; a red circle with a slash means prohibited, a green circle means permitted.

How to recognise it
A black square with a white arrow curving to the left, hung over or beside a single lane.
Where you will see it
Mounted above the lane, or at the side of it, before the intersection.
What to do when you see it
- 1.If you are in this lane, you must turn left.
- 2.If you want to go another way, change lanes before the intersection, not in it.
On the knowledge test
Lane-use signs bind you once you are in the designated lane, and you may not move into or out of that lane while you are in the intersection.
