What it means
A turn control sign mounted directly above the intersection: you must turn left here. Follow the direction of the arrow.
White with black or red; a red circle with a slash means prohibited, a green circle means permitted.

How to recognise it
A white square with a green circle around a black arrow curving to the left.
Where you will see it
Mounted directly above the intersection.
What to do when you see it
- 1.At this intersection you must turn left.
- 2.Yield to oncoming traffic and pedestrians as for any left turn, and wait for a safe gap.
On the knowledge test
Turn-control signs hang over the intersection itself and you must follow the arrow. Telling them from lane-use signs (over a lane, before the intersection) is a favourite question.
