Green arrow
What it means
You may turn in the direction of the arrow. It is a protected turn: while the arrow is shown, through traffic from the other direction faces a red light.

How to recognise it
A green arrow lit in the bottom light of the signal, pointing the way you may turn (left in this picture).
Where you will see it
At intersections with protected turns, often a designated left-turn lane with its own set of traffic lights, where the green arrow is at the bottom.
What to do when you see it
- 1.Turn in the direction of the arrow. While it shows, the turn is protected: through traffic is facing a red light.
- 2.Still check the crosswalk you are turning across; do not enter it until it is empty.
- 3.At a separate set of left-turn lights, once the arrow turns yellow you must stop and wait for the next green arrow before turning.
