What it means
Move out of this lane into a lane showing a green arrow. If the signals over every lane are flashing yellow, slow down and proceed with caution.

How to recognise it
A yellow X lit over the lane, drawn here with rays because it may flash.
Where you will see it
Over lanes that are about to close, often a reversible lane about to change direction.
What to do when you see it
- 1.Move out of this lane and into a lane that shows a green arrow.
- 2.Change lanes smoothly: mirrors, signal, blind-spot check, then move when there is a gap.
- 3.If the signals over all of the lanes are flashing yellow, stay in your lane, slow down and proceed with caution.
