How to recognise it
A yellow diamond with black rocks tumbling down a cliff face onto the road.
Where you will see it
Mountain highways and roads cut through rock, especially after rain or a thaw.
What to do when you see it
- 1.Slow down and watch the road surface for rocks, especially around blind curves.
- 2.Keep enough speed control and space that you can stop or steer around a rock safely.
On the knowledge test
The guide's wording is "watch for rocks on the road ahead". ICBC's own test page names this sign and the railway crossing sign as a pair to tell apart: both are yellow diamonds, so learn the pictures.
