Object marker — keep right or left
What it means
Object markers are mounted on obstructions. Stripes pointing down on both sides mean you may pass on either side.
Yellow diamonds (and five-sided yellow-green school signs) warn of hazards ahead.

How to recognise it
A tall, narrow yellow panel with black chevron stripes that point down, sloping to both sides.
Where you will see it
On the nose of a median or island, bridge piers and other objects that split the roadway.
What to do when you see it
- 1.Pay special attention: the marker is mounted on an obstruction in or beside your path.
- 2.You may pass on either side; choose the side that fits your route and lane, and slow down.
On the knowledge test
