Summarised from ICBC’s Learn to Drive Smart. Read the original: Signs signals and road markings ↗
How to recognise it
A yellow diamond with a black figure walking over a line.
Where you will see it
Before a crosswalk that drivers might not expect, often on faster roads or after a curve.
What to do when you see it
- 1.Slow down and look for people waiting at, or stepping off, the curb.
- 2.Be ready to stop: pedestrians often underestimate how far a vehicle needs to stop.
On the knowledge test
Yellow diamond means "ahead": a crosswalk is coming. The white rectangle with the same figure stands at the crosswalk itself.
