Prepare to stop when lights are flashing
What it means
Traffic lights are ahead. When the yellow lights on this sign are flashing, the signal ahead is about to turn red: prepare to stop.

Before signals on high-speed highways, where drivers need early warning to stop.
What to do when you see it
- 1.When the amber lights are flashing, prepare to stop: the signal ahead is turning red.
- 2.Check your mirror and brake smoothly so the driver behind has time to react.
On the knowledge test
The flashing lights are the whole message: "prepare to stop". A wrong option usually says to speed up to beat the light.
