Signal lights ahead
What it means
Traffic lights are ahead. Slow down and be prepared to stop if they change.
Yellow diamonds (and five-sided yellow-green school signs) warn of hazards ahead.

How to recognise it

Where you will see it
Before traffic lights on highways and faster roads, or where a curve or hill hides the signal.
What to do when you see it
- 1.Slow down and be prepared to stop if the light ahead changes.
- 2.On a steady yellow, stop before the intersection unless you cannot safely stop in time.
On the knowledge test
It is a warning, not a signal: it tells you a traffic light is coming. Do not confuse it with the larger panel with flashing lights, which means the signal is about to turn red.
