How to recognise it
An orange triangle with a red border, point up, fixed to the back of a vehicle rather than on a post.
Where you will see it
On the back of some vehicles that will be moving slowly. The guide shows it in its section on large vehicles, which also need extra room.
What to do when you see it
- 1.Slow down early: you will close on this vehicle much faster than on normal traffic.
- 2.Keep your distance behind it.
- 3.Pass only when you are certain it is safe: a clear view ahead, passing allowed, and enough room to get back.
