Where you will see it
Where the shoulder has been dug up, regraded or freshly filled during road work.
What to do when you see it
- 1.Stay off the shoulder ahead: it will not support your vehicle.
- 2.Keep your wheels on the travelled lane, and do not use the shoulder to stop or to pass.
On the knowledge test
The guide’s instruction is simply to keep off it. A distractor may suggest using the shoulder to let traffic pass; that is exactly what the sign rules out.
