You see this lighted arrow board at a work zone. What should you do?
- A.Move in the direction of the lighted arrow, into the open laneAnswer
- B.Stop and wait for the arrow to turn off

Explanation: The arrow board tells you which way the open lane is. Merge early, as soon as it is safe, rather than driving to the end of the closed lane and forcing your way in.

What does this sign mean?

- B.You may use the shoulder to pass slow vehicles
- C.Pull onto the shoulder to let traffic pass

Explanation: A soft shoulder will not support your vehicle: a wheel that drops onto it can sink or pull you off the road. Keep all your wheels on the pavement through the work area.

Explanation: Detour signs belong to the construction family: they warn that the normal route is closed and guide you around it. Follow the detour signs until you rejoin your route.
