Added lane ahead
What it means
A road joins from the right ahead and becomes an added lane. Watch for traffic entering beside you.

How to recognise it
A yellow diamond with two black arrows side by side: the right one curves in from the side and a dividing line keeps it in its own lane.
Where you will see it
Highways where a road or ramp joins from the right and continues as an extra lane.
What to do when you see it
- 1.Expect vehicles to appear in a new lane on your right.
- 2.Keep your lane and check your mirror and blind spot before any move to the right.
On the knowledge test
Look for the line between the arrows. It means the joining road becomes an added lane to the right, which is different from traffic merging into your lane.
