Right lane ends
What it means
The right lane ends ahead. If you are in it, merge left when it is safe.
Yellow diamonds (and five-sided yellow-green school signs) warn of hazards ahead.

How to recognise it
A yellow diamond with a solid black line on the left and, on the right, a lane that bends in and ends beside a broken lane line.
Where you will see it
Where a multi-lane road drops a lane, and at the end of passing lanes.
What to do when you see it
- 1.If you are in the right lane, adjust your speed within the limit and wait for a safe gap to move left.
- 2.Signal, check your mirror and shoulder check before you change lanes.
- 3.If you are in the lane beside it, help drivers merge by adjusting your speed or changing lanes.
On the knowledge test
The test checks both sides of the merge: the driver whose lane ends finds a safe gap; the driver beside them helps by adjusting speed.
