What it means
The road narrows ahead. Slow down and expect less room.

How to recognise it
A yellow diamond with two black edge lines that both bend inward, so the road gets narrower.
Where you will see it
Where a road loses its paved width, such as at the edge of town or before older sections of highway.
What to do when you see it
- 1.Slow down and expect less room between you and oncoming traffic.
- 2.Keep well to the right of your lane without running onto the shoulder.
On the knowledge test
Both edges move in, so the whole road narrows. If only one side bends in and a lane line stops, the sign is telling you a lane ends.
