How to recognise it
A white square with a red circle and slash over two cars side by side.
Where you will see it
On two-lane roads where you cannot see far enough ahead to pass safely, such as hills and curves.
What to do when you see it
- 1.Do not pass the vehicle ahead on this stretch of road.
- 2.Keep a safe following distance and wait until the road and the lane markings allow passing again.
On the knowledge test
A red circle with a slash shows an action that is not permitted. The painted equivalent is a double solid yellow line; a single solid yellow line in B.C. allows passing with extra caution.
