How to recognise it
A steady white rectangular light, drawn here as a white vertical bar in its own lamp above the red.
Where you will see it
At some intersections on bus routes, mounted with the regular traffic lights.
What to do when you see it
- 1.If you are not driving a bus, ignore the white light and obey your own traffic light.
- 2.Expect a bus beside you to move off while your light is still red, and do not follow it.
On the knowledge test
Only buses may go on this signal. A question may offer "all vehicles may proceed" or "proceed with caution": both are wrong for anyone who is not driving a bus.
