What it means
The advance left-turn signal is about to change. Slow down and stop before the intersection unless you cannot stop safely in time.

How to recognise it
A yellow left arrow lit at the bottom of the signal, here with the regular green still on above it.
Where you will see it
Wherever a green left-turn arrow is used, as the step between the arrow and the end of the protected turn.
What to do when you see it
- 1.The advance left turn is about to end: slow down and stop before the intersection unless you cannot stop safely in time.
- 2.At a separate set of left-turn lights, stop and wait for the next green arrow before turning.
- 3.On regular lights, if only the green remains after the arrow, you may still turn left, but yield to pedestrians and oncoming traffic.
On the knowledge test
The yellow arrow is the end of the protection, not a last chance to hurry through. The guide treats it like a steady yellow: stop unless you cannot stop safely in time.
