Exit advisory speed
What it means
A highway or freeway exit is ahead. Slow to the advisory speed shown before you take the ramp.
Yellow diamonds (and five-sided yellow-green school signs) warn of hazards ahead.

How to recognise it
A yellow upright rectangle with EXIT at the top, a large number and km/h below it.
Where you will see it
At highway and freeway exits, beside the exit lane.
What to do when you see it
- 1.Signal your exit and keep your speed until you are in the exit lane.
- 2.Then slow down gradually to the advisory speed shown before the ramp curves.
On the knowledge test
The number is an advisory speed for the ramp, not the speed limit of the highway. Slowing down while still in the through lane is the common mistake.
