What it means
Cyclists may be on the road ahead. Slow down and give them room when you pass.
Yellow diamonds (and five-sided yellow-green school signs) warn of hazards ahead.

How to recognise it
A yellow diamond with a black bicycle.
Where you will see it
Roads with no bike lane that cyclists use often, such as highway shoulders and narrow routes near towns.
What to do when you see it
- 1.Expect cyclists in your lane and slow down to their speed if you cannot pass safely.
- 2.Give plenty of side room when you pass; on a narrow road, wait for a clear, straight stretch.
- 3.On a multi-lane road, change lanes rather than squeeze past.
On the knowledge test
The test often adds that you may cross a single solid yellow line to pass a cyclist if it is safe. Side-swiping is a common cause of crashes with cyclists.
